Situka is the story of how two lovers face catastrophe when Amanio, an ambitious young woman with a passion for politics, inspires Muganga, an industrious young man with a dare devil attitude, to stand up bravely for justice.
Muganga, acted by Uganda’s Ghetto President Bobi Wine, runs a prominent saloon near the university. Admired by his peers, Muganga struggles with his purpose and influence until Amanio’s life is put at risk. Uganda’s political and social services fail her, and Muganga is moved to fight for his love and his people.
Producer Bugingo Hannington said of the film: “It was amazing to work with all the stars in the movie. Situka is also so meaningful, because there are so many Ugandans in the same situation as Muganga and Amanio, and this movie will help people stand up and demand what belongs to them!”
