Whitehead Communications ended 2014 strong, and we are starting 2015 full of hope and inspiration. Several new clients / collaborators have joined the team in the past few weeks, and we have submit many proposals – seeds planted that we look forward to harvesting in 2015!
In December 2014, I flew to Kigali, Rwanda to work with the marketing firm Legacy XP on serving their clients from multiple industries, including construction, transport, energy, and refreshments. They have asked me to help advise on public relations and manage the creative team, and I am thrilled to expand Whitehead Communications into Rwanda.
Bobi Wine (the Ghetto President) is receiving our advice on social media, interviews, and how to manage his public image abroad. His new-and-improved website is now in development.

We have also been busy collaborating with several non-profit organizations in Uganda, including Breakdance Project Uganda, which will be hosting their annual Hip Hop for Society event at the Sharing Youth Centre in Nsambya on January 25th. It’s totally free and not to be missed! I will be there to give a free talk and Q&A on funding proposals.
Our work with Cambridge Secondary School continues – the breakdancing workshops attracted many youth from the local community and were altogether very successful – and we are working toward refining the school’s performing arts curriculum and developing new support networks to facilitate the students’ 2015 Canadian tour.
I have also been working with the Uganda Women’s Cancer Support Organization to build on their campaign plans for 2015 and develop new funding proposals. This is one of several new organizations that Whitehead Communications has recently started helping to gather the logistical support needed to expand programming in the year ahead.

There is so much work to do that Whitehead Communications is now ready to take on one or two part time interns to help out. These positions will be paid dependent on qualifications and experience. Ideally, we would want to hire a Ugandan who has or is working toward a university degree in a related field like English, PR or marketing, but more importantly, our staff must be responsible, exceptional communicators with a great understanding of the Ugandan/African media industry and a passion for promotion, honest communication and helping people reach their ultimate potential. Extensive communications training will be provided. Please send a CV/resume and cover letter to [email protected]
